Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Mittetulundusühing NATIONAL RESILIENCE CENTRE (a non-profit association registered in Estonia, registry code 80650278), operating as EK Strategic Communications Center and EK Strategies (“EK”, “we”, “us” or “our”), uses cookies and similar technologies on ekstrategies.org. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
About this Policy
Cookies and similar technologies may store information on your device or allow information to be accessed from it. This Policy explains which technologies we use, their purposes and durations, and how you can control optional cookies.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored by a website in a browser. Some cookies last only for the current session, while persistent cookies remain until they expire or are deleted. We may also use similar technologies, such as local storage, pixels, tags or embedded third-party content. In this Policy, we refer to them collectively as “cookies” where appropriate.
How we use cookies
We use necessary cookies to operate the website, maintain security and remember your privacy choices. With your permission, we may also use optional cookies to measure website use or measure how our campaigns perform. Optional cookies are disabled by default where consent is required.
Cookie categories
Necessary cookies are required for core website functions, security and remembering your consent preferences. They cannot be disabled through our preference centre. Analytics cookies help us understand how the website is used, which content is read and how we can improve it; we currently use Google Analytics 4 and Hotjar for this purpose. Marketing cookies measure how our campaigns perform and allow audiences of past visitors to be used for advertising. We currently use the LinkedIn Insight Tag and the X (formerly Twitter) pixel, which are loaded through Google Tag Manager. We also use the Google advertising features of our Google Analytics 4 property: Google Signals is enabled and the property is linked to our Google Ads account. Analytics and marketing cookies are set only after you have given the matching consent, and each category can be accepted or rejected separately. Some cookies in the Marketing category are technical cookies, such as bot protection, set by the infrastructure of these advertising providers; we list them here because they appear only when a marketing technology loads with your consent.
Cookies and technologies currently used
The table below lists the cookies we have identified on this website, reviewed before publication. It is reproduced in full on this page, so it can be read without accepting cookies or running scripts. We update it when our providers or tags change.
Cookie | Provider | Domain | Purpose | Category | Type | First/third party | Duration |

It is set only when the X marketing pixel loads, so we list and control it under the Marketing category. | Marketing | HTTP cookie | Third-party | 30 minutes |

Analytics and session recording
With your permission, Google Analytics 4 and Hotjar may process information such as page views, browser and device information, approximate location and cookie identifiers. Google Analytics is not loaded unless you grant analytics consent. We use Google Consent Mode in its basic implementation, so no data is sent to Google before you make a choice. Further information about personal data processing is available in our Privacy Policy.
Hotjar also records individual browsing sessions and produces aggregated heatmaps. A recording may capture the pages you open, mouse movement, clicks, scrolling and interactions with page elements, and may be reviewed by our team to understand how the website is used. Hotjar is loaded only after you accept analytics cookies, and we do not use recordings to identify individual visitors.
Managing your preferences
You can accept all optional cookies, reject non-essential cookies or select individual categories through our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time by selecting Cookie Settings in the website footer. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal, but it prevents the relevant optional technologies from being used for future visits and interactions. You can also delete existing cookies through your browser settings.
Third-party services
Some optional technologies are provided by third parties. When enabled, those providers may process information under their own privacy terms. Our reviewed cookie list identifies the relevant provider and purpose. The privacy information of the providers we currently use is available here: Google (Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager), Hotjar, LinkedIn, X and CookieYes.
Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Policy when our website, providers, cookies or legal obligations change. We will update the “Last updated” date and request consent again where a change materially affects the purposes or categories previously selected.
